Our Team

Our year-round team complements one another in the most wonderful ways, creating a warm, dynamic environment where students feel seen, supported, and celebrated in all the wins. Don't let our small size fool you — we are a mighty team with enormous hearts! We thrive on building meaningful connections with our students and take great pride in the relationships we nurture along the way. We aren't just teachers — we are advocates, mentors, cheerleaders, trusted friends, and proud community builders.

We genuinely love what we do and who we do it with, and that energy shows up in everything we bring to The Learning Space. We can't wait for you to come meet us — we have a feeling you'll love our little team just as much as we do!

Kayla Garza, Founder of The Learning Space ATX

Founder & Lead Educator

Kayla Garza (Ms. G)

M.S.Special Education
B.A.Liberal Arts, Psychology

Meet Kayla Garza — founder of The Learning Space, devoted teacher, and proud mom. When she's not guiding students in the classroom, she's at home with the family she adores.

Kayla's teaching journey began in California, where she volunteered at summer camps before finding her first classroom — a preschool. From there, she taught high school students in a 1:1 setting, then spent several formative years as a K–2 special education teacher in Redwood City, CA. It was there that Kayla found her true calling: individualized, creative approaches to teaching that would shape her philosophy for years to come.

Kayla holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Psychology from Menlo College and an M.S. in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Beyond her credentials, she's a fun, energetic educator who genuinely loves what she does.

In 2020, Kayla and her family moved to Texas to start a new chapter. She founded The Learning Space to build the learning community she always envisioned — one where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are. The growth of The Learning Space continues to fill her with happiness.
